Jackie and Neal have spent most of the
year without a kitchen while their new
kitchen was being built...it was finished
just in time for the holidays. Truly a
kitchen to be thankful for!

Howdy to Lee

Dropped by on my way home from the
Orlando area to say "Howdy" to Lee and
catch dinner with her.

It was great seeing her again. She promises
me she is retiring next year, so hopefully
she and I will have some time to get
together more often!

Kayla's sweet sixteen birthday

Our granddaughter, Kayla Sky Obendorf,
turns sweet sixteen

It was a warm October night, so the
DJ set up his music out on the patio
and that is where the dancing took place

Jackie made this birthday card with an
image of Kayla when she was little and
an image of her as she is now, then all
of her friends and family signed it.

M&M's with Kayla's photo, name and "16"

Grand kids photo exhibit in our gallery

Kayla came back from Europe with many
wonderful photographs. She is a very good
photographer and I wanted to share her work
with the world, so we did an exhibit of Kayla's
photography in our gallery.

She prefers black and white, so she worked
in photoshop changing her pictures from
color to good black and white images

her photographs from Europe

Robbie and I had taken a photo trip
together. We worked on the computer
using photoshop together...actually,
he knew more than I did! Every once
in awhile I'd help him. We then did
an exhibit of his work in the gallery.

of handpainting a photograph during
the weekend

New Addition to Tony's Family

Tony (Lee's son) and Shelby Friontino are proud
to announce the birth of their first child
a sweet little girl: Evelyn Margaret

(This is the only photo I have of Tony
and Shelby...they didn't JUST get
married. They've been married for
quite awhile.)

Connie, Dave & Jerry's new restuarant

Jerry's State Court Cafe

On June 15, 2009 we opened Jerry's State Court Cafe
with Dave's son Jerry Jones. After nearly thirteen
years of retirement, and lot's of travel, this has been
a big adjustment for us. But it's also been pretty
exciting. We weren't crazy opening a restaurant in
this economy; it's a smart time to open a business
because we know we're in trouble from the start!

Sales are up each month and customers seem to be
happy eating here; many of our customers eat at the
restaurant every day. It's our goal to make everyone
feel as if this is their second home.

The building is 35 years old and we have made many
improvements, including "going green". We've
reduced our electrical, water and sewage usage;
we've updated the kitchen and installed double-pane
windows.

Just the facts, ma'am, are these: it seats 200, we're
open seven days a week from 6:00am to 8:00pm.
There is a banquet area for 8-80 and we serve beer
and wine. Our parking lot holds about 100 cars and
the good news is that on the weekend it's frequently full!

Connie (Vogel) Jones

(a note from Niki: For those of you who don't
know it...Jerry is a fantastic cook!)
